Men’s Ministry
At Washington Church, we
offer several programs for men to develop a deeper relationship with God
and with each other.
Iron Sharpens Iron
Iron
Sharpens Iron is designed to help men grow deeper in their relationship
with Jesus through a combination of weekly discipleship meetings and
ongoing accountability. All men participating will meet Wednesday night
at 7:00 PM at Washington Church. The first 30-45 minutes are a teaching
from Pastor Don and the final 45-60 minutes are devoted to small groups
of six men who will take the lesson deeper on a personal basis. Each man
participating in ISI will also be required to participate in an
accountability triad. This is an 18 month commitment to complete the ISI
series through the spring of 2009.
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Proverbs 27:17

Triads
Men
participating in Triads will meet at least twice per month, with the
intent that they can share their lives with the other guys and
eventually give them permission to hold them accountable for some type
of personal growth. Triads are open to anyone.
Small Groups
Small groups have a long history at Washington Church. We will be
starting two new groups for men the first week of February. We have yet
to determine the material and groups are still forming. These groups
will meet one evening or morning each week.
Men’s Fraternity
Men’s Fraternity is a nationwide program that Washington Church helped
to launch in the Toledo area three years ago. We are not hosting a group
currently, but 20 other churches in the area have a first or second year
session. Men’s Fraternity is a program developed by Dr. Robert Lewis.
You can find a meeting schedule at the Welcome Center and program
information at
www.mensfraternity.com.
Special Events
We are
planning on a few special events this year. In the spring we will have
an Inaugural Polar Plunge, a canoe trip down the Maumee, and will be
participating in the the golf outing to support the Washington Youth
Groups. Over the summer we will have a men’s cookout and then a three
day Men’s Weekend in the fall.
