College Ministry

Opening our homes and lives to the college students at Washington Church

The Families at Washington church have developed a "home based" ministry that eagerly desires to embrace the college students into the church community. Connecting on a personal level the college students are actively engaged with families within the church. Students are adopted by families developing genuine relationships which include; home cooked meals, the use of laundry facilities, going out for conversation and coffee, in some sense it's kind of a home away from home for college students.

Sick of vinyl couches, tiny rooms, and cafeteria food, the college brunch takes place during the semester. Free home-cooked meal comes with fellowship, after church service on Sundays throughout the semester.

When activities slow down during the summer Washington Church provides dinner, fellowship and times of serving our community for the remnant in Toledo.

  • HAFH - "home away from home" ministry consists of families that adopt a college student, developing relationships, sharing faith, and a place to do your laundry. An encouraging conversation over coffee and a home cooked meal, an escape from the dorm or apartment life. A ministry designed to encourage students and connect them with other members of the church.
  • College Brunch - a laid back time to hang with your friends and eat "Mom's Home Cookin." Twice a semester college students are invited over to a church family's home for a home cooked meal, which means free food and an escape from cafeteria food. Look at the calendar for details.
