Dear Friends,

A quick update on a milestone in the Fothergill family.  As many of you know, my son-in-law Adam Just finished up seminary 16 months ago and responded to a call to serve as an associate pastor at St. John’s church in Archbold.  He has recently completed all the necessary steps as well as an examination for ordination.  This Sunday afternoon, October 7^th, he will be officially “ordained” as a pastor.

It’s a joy for both Joan and me to see both Sara and Adam work together so effectively in loving, leading and empowering God’s people.  They are having such a positive impact on the people in Archbold.  There is no greater joy a parent can have than seeing their children serve God and serve God’s people.  I would love to have our two families serve together sometime in the future, but for now I rejoice in the work that God has for them in Archbold.

I feel honored to be preaching Adam’s ordination message.  I get all “teared up” inside when I see how the next generation is stepping up and taking responsibility for advancing the kingdom.  God indeed has answered our prayers far more abundantly than we could have imagined.
