My Friends,
Another big change in the Fothergill’s life has to do with Joan. Some of you know that Joan has found great joy for the past eight years in riding her horse “Stevie Wonder” or just plain “Stevie” for short. She purchased Stevie for one dollar and as of the beginning of this month sold her back to her original owner. Many times Joan has said, “Stevie has been my teacher these past eight years.” It was a wonderful chapter in her life that has now come to an end. The next chapter that Joan is moving into with grace and passion is in the area of spiritual direction. She finished an intensive three year course with the Dominicans in spiritual direction and is now meeting one-on-one with a growing handful of people in helping them to personally discern the movement of the Holy Spirit in their lives. She feels as though she’s found her “niche” - the perfect match between her passion and gifts and the needs of God’s people. If you are seriously interested in any type of spiritual formation/direction please don’t hesitate to call Joan. I’ll keep you posted on new developments in the Fothergill family.
