Friends, I thought I would let you in on the “crazier” or
“zanier” side of my life. Last week my son-in-law, Adam, turned thirty and
the guys in his life had a surprise birthday party for him. His two
brothers-in-law, David and Jimmy, kidnapped him on Tuesday morning. The first event was the stone toss that Jimmy won. The Second event was the pole throw which David won. The third event was the hammer throw which Adam won and David nearly killed two of us with his wild throws (he left a huge gash on one of the trees). The fourth event was the tire hoist, the fifth event was archery and the sixth event was croquet. As you can see we were running out of Scottish games but nonetheless we had fun. In the end Adam, the birthday boy, prevailed as the winner.
I have found in my life that there is nothing that does
the soul so much good as a little craziness once in awhile. I believe it
keeps us sane.
Your friend, Don
